Dr. Prasad Raghupatruni obtained Masters and Ph.D degrees in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from IIT-BHU, Varanasi and IIT-Madras respectively with specialization in rapid solidification processing of Ni-base shape memory alloys. Further to that worked as a Visiting Scientist at KIMS and KIST, South Korea and Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany on High temperature materials. In addition to that worked as a Manager - Special Processes and Senior Engineer, Gas Turbine Repair development at BHEL-GE and GE India Technology Centre-Bangalore. The major focus research areas/expertise is High temperature materials and coatings, Repair development of gas turbine materials, Metal additive manufacturing involving Selective laser melting and Laser assisted direct energy deposition, Welding, Rapid solidification and Advanced materials Characterization. He had published about 48 publications from academic/applied research work including 2 US + 2 EP Patents (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Raghupatruni-Prasad ). During his postdoctoral and industrial appointments, guided both masters and undergraduate students as well as juniors. Currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at BIUST (Botswana International University of Science and Technology)
