Faculty publication productivity in Boyer’s four domains of scholarship in English-speaking African universities

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The purpose of the research study is two-fold: It seeks to investigate the nature of scholarship undertaken by faculty members at English-speaking universities on the African continent. The study also seeks to investigate the extent to which the scholarly output of these scholars, in comparison with that of scholars in the USA, is reflective of Boyer’s four domains of scholarship and his call for faculty scholars to apply their disciplinary knowledge and skills to solve society’s problems, make meaning from the research of other scholars, improve undergraduate instruction, while contributing to the stock of knowledge.
