Abstract

The adhesion of diamond coatings deposited on 0.8 μm WC-10% Co substrates were studied using chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The coating adhesions were characterized using indentation tests employing a Brinell indenter. Three indentation loads, such as 294, 490 and 612.5 N were employed. Micro-Raman spectroscopy was used to characterize the deposited films for diamond carbon phase security, and determine the biaxial stresses in the coating samples.
