Abstract
The paper presents the adaptive temperature control of fermentation reactor compared with the classical PID control. For simulations, a mathematical model which consists of a detailed kinetic model, heat and mass balances was used. The model reveals the main dynamic characteristics of the process and for these reasons it is a useful tool for testing different control structures. The model and the control algorithms were implemented in the Matlab/Simulink environment.
