Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are spatially dispersed networks furnished with a large number of nodes for monitoring and recording various environmental conditions. These networks are restrained in terms of their processing power, storage resources, and battery life. In other words, they are not themselves proficient in performing such diverse task set like localization of nodes, data processing etc. Cloud computing (CC) offers on-demand access of the resources like networks, servers, and information storage. Ensuring this sensitive information security, availability and scalability are a major factor in the cloud computing environment. In this paper, we proposed a mathematical model for measuring the availability of data and machines (nodes). We also present a proposed system known as Self Encryption System (SES) that will encrypt data before it is being sent to the cloud. The paper presents the steps to achieve the proposed system and also a sample of encrypted and decrypted file. © 2017 IEEE.
