Low frequency THz spectrum of 4-hexylbenzoic acid measured at room temperature

Abstract

The terahertz spectrum of 4-hexylbenzoic acid is reported for the first time in the low frequency range. The FTIR measurements revealed that this material is characterized by 7 absorption peaks in the considered frequency range at room temperature. A good correspondence was obtained between the experiment and the theoretical model. This work increases the scope of using FTIR technique in determining the low frequency THz spectra of materials.
