Abstract

Fully developed forced convection in porous-saturated ducts of rectangular cross sections is considered on the basis of the Brinkman-Forchheimer model. The set of semilinear Brinkman-Forchheimer momentum balance and energy equations is solved analytically by the Legendre pseudospectral method. The effect of aspect ratio and the nonlinearity introduced by the Forchheimer number on the velocity and temperature fields is presented, as well as the change in the heat-transfer rates.
