Abstract

In the present paper, steady state model of desiccant wheel has been developed. Mass and energy balance equations for air stream and desiccant material are solved by applying numerical scheme. The model is capable of predicting steady state behaviour of desiccant wheel having process air and regeneration sections. The mathematical model was validated with an experimental results and showing reasonable agreement. The simulated results were used to gain an insight into the operation of desiccant wheels. The model and the presented results will be useful for studying the dehumidification.
