Abstract

The study on coal dust pyrolysis was carried out and three products were obtained, tar, char and gas. Pyrolysis of Morupule coal dust was carried out at different temperature to determine how change of temperature affect tar yield. Temperatures were varied from 400°C, then 500°C, 550°C and lastly at 600°C. In this study, temperature and heating rate were found to influence the product mix and yield of coal dust pyrolysis.
