Abstract

For dual-mode filters, a new resonator structure, the dielectric loaded rectangular cavity resonator, is proposed. This resonator is analysed and its mechanical and electrical advantages over its cylindrical counterpart, are outlined. Based on this resonator, two fourth-order elliptic filters of similar specifications, developed in the stacked and planar configurations using the dual-mode technique, are explained and their responses are briefly discussed.
