Abstract

Five new nitrogen donor ligands have been prepared with the bidentate Schiff bases derived from a 2:1 molar condensation of different types of aldehydes with ethylenediamine. Two new ligands with a 2-hydrazonomethyl- phenol moiety have also been prepared from a 1:1 molar condensation of the 2-hydrazonomethyl-phenol with an appropriate furaldehyde. The ligands were characterised on the basis of their elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR.
