N2 - FTIR technique was employed to study two liquid crystals of the BA class. The THz transmission spectra of the two compounds are characterized by distinct absorption bands. 4-hexylbenzoic acid is characterized by 7 absorption bands while 4-octyloxybenzoic acid has 11 absorption bands. Despite the similarities in the molecular structures of these compounds, there are profound differences in their spectra.
